Product Description

Human Biglycan Recombinant Protein is a recombinant form of human Biglycan (BGN), a small leucine-rich proteoglycan involved in extracellular matrix organization and cellular signaling. The protein is expressed using a baculovirus expression system and contains a His-tag for purification and detection.

This recombinant protein corresponds to amino acid residues 38–368 of the human Biglycan sequence. It is supplied in liquid form and characterized by SDS-PAGE purity analysis and a cell-based bioactivity assay.

Key Features

  • Recombinant human Biglycan protein.
  • Produced using a baculovirus expression system.
  • His-tag for purification and detection.
  • Protein sequence domain: amino acids 38–368.
  • Purity greater than 90% by SDS-PAGE.
  • Endotoxin level below 1 EU per 1 µg of protein.
  • Characterized for SDS-PAGE and bioactivity applications.

Biological Background

Biglycan is an extracellular matrix proteoglycan encoded by the BGN gene. It belongs to the small leucine-rich proteoglycan family and contributes to extracellular matrix organization and interactions between cells and their surrounding environment.

Biglycan is also associated with cellular signaling processes and has been investigated in studies of tissue biology, inflammation, development, and cell-matrix interactions.

Applications

  • SDS-PAGE analysis.
  • Cell-based bioactivity studies.
  • Signal transduction research.
  • Extracellular matrix and proteoglycan research.
  • Studies of cell-matrix interactions.
Bioactivity Information: Activity is measured by inhibition of cell growth using 3T3-L1 mouse embryonic fibroblast adipose-like cells. The reported ED50 range is ≤ 20 µg/mL.
